| Use | 1-(N-acetyl) pyrazole is a pharmaceutical intermediate, which can be obtained by acetylation of imidazole. It has been reported that it can be used to prepare hepatitis B virus (HBV) inhibitors. |
| Preparation | Commercially available acetyl chloride (10 mmol) was slowly added to a DCM(20 mL) solution of pyrazole (11 mmol) and Et3N(1.7 mL,12.5 mmol), and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour. Wash with hydrochloric acid solution (1M,50 mL) and NaOH aqueous solution (2M,50 mL), dry the organic layer with Na2SO4, remove the solvent in vacuum, purify the crude product by SiO2 column chromatography, and elute with petroleum ether/EtOAc to obtain the product 1-(N-acetyl) pyrazole. |
